About Us

Why RAP?

image13

Racism Awareness Project – RAP was started by National Truth and Reconciliation Commission as an educational endeavor to raise awareness around the history and current forms of racism in the United States. We see bridging the racial justice and immigrant rights movements as a significant aspect of this educational endeavor. The purpose of RAP is to create educational forums where burning issues such as:

  1. Racial justice and immigration policy
  2. Rise of white nationalism, racism and xenophobia
  3. Mass incarceration of black and brown men and women
  4. Race and electoral policy
  5. Racial justice and climate change
  6. From grassroots to courts

... and other pertinent topics could be discussed.

We are committed to a never-ending inquiry on these topics and their interconnections that could lead to common ground.

Our guiding principle is to listen without preconceived notions.

Our goal is to provide a passionate and inspiring learning experience for ourselves and all who will participate in our forums.

Raising awareness is exciting!
